Thanks. According to this article, Akubra signed a licensing agreement with Stetson in 1951.

You have a good eye, Lefty -- the "Open Road" script on the green OR is highly reminiscent of the OR script on the original circa 1937 version:

All things considered, I am guessing 50's on the green OR.

I used to be, but now I'm apparently a fathead--I've put on quite a bit of weight and my hat size went up accordingly. :eusa_doh:

Stetson (don't narrow it down to hats, view everything) - many sellers use Stetson to describe any hat

the vintage accessories, men's hats category

90% of the worthwhile, vintage hats can be found in one or both of those. The rest are, IMO, badly listed.

+1. Each has got to be out anywhere from $50-100.

Whoever got the Lounger sold Resistol 100 made out like a bandit. Between the Stetson I picked up, the Beaver Brand, and this one, the vintage $12 hats are far outselling the vintage $100 hats.
