Really a different product than cheese sticks.

Cheese sticks are often processed, second-rate cheese.
Curds are taken from what would later become an excellent cheese.

Years ago...when in grade school...my class toured a cheese factory in a nearby small town here in Indiana. They showed us how they made cheese..and had a huge bin of cheese curds. They gave everyone a scoop of them. I remember then as being quite delicious!

I raided my two flowerpots of basil today, grated some Parmesan cheese, threw in some pine nuts and garlic, and added a splash of olive oil and made a deeeeeeliiiiicioussss Pesto. I could really coat myself in that stuff... Had some spaghetti with it, naturally.

Oh yum.
I have some left over roast chicken that I'll use up tonight. Maybe a creamy pasta with mushrooms or cannelloni or a stir fry or a chicken pie. As you can tell I'm undecided.

It will be goooooood Lolly :D

I reckon you should whisk up a chicken and leek pie with the leftovers. We had roast chook for Sunday lunch, always a hit!

Last night I decided to stop by Toast Kitchen and Winebar in Pittsburgh for their Chef's selection 4-course dinner. From talking with the server, it varies from night to night. I had mussels, followed by a fillet of some lighter-coloured fish (can't remember the name), salad, and steak. Only the salad was on the regular menu - the rest were creations for the Chef's Selection that they are doing for the month of June.

The wine pairings were good as well. All-in-all, a very nice evening.

(probably back to beans and rice for tonight!)

The kids had hectic schedules last night so it was a quick supper in our home. Bacon sandwiches. I know it doesn't sound like too much but sometimes a pan of hot bacon layered over some fresh bread is just the ticket.
