And they were definitely different from the, mainly, chocolate- or peanut-related candies that dominated when we were growing up.

Yesterday, super girlfriend enrobed some Halloween Peeps - ghosts and monster heads - in dark chocolate, which will provide much snacking joy for many days to come:


Plus my favorite Halloween candy of them all - Russell Stover's Orange Marshmallow Pumpkins - arrived. And it appears to have been a banner crop year in the pumpkin patch - great orange flavor and good soft marshmallow texture:

A very good friend of ours father is going on one of those golfing-with-the-guys vacations and asked super girlfriend (after all these years, SGF is like his second daughter) to bake some treats which had to include his favorite - her coffee cake.

Below is some of the "production," including two of the coffee cakes, snickerdoodle cookies and peanut butter cookies. There will also be chocolate chip and oatmeal with dried cherries cookies baked later today.
