I am a big fan of the basic CHP style cross zip.

This is my Langlitz Columbia. I eliminated the belt loops on the bottom because I feel it looks cleaner that way.

I was doing so good...but then it started...that gentle itch, becomes a nag...and now it's full blown HELLFIRE!

Absolute truth.

But motorcycle cross zips are a freaking alpha and an omega of leather jackets. I started with them, went thru pretty much all the styles there are, convinced I've given up on 'em and now I'm back to wanting another classic Perfecto as much as I did when I was first looking to get one xx years ago.

And it's always the boringass Perfecto. The one with the coin pocket. Nothing fancy.

This...

dan_t, "Care to elaborate?" Well don't mind if I do...Since I don't "ride" any longer, I decided to go with the early flight jacket look as apposed to the "bad ass biker" look. I only have the "ass" look covered now. steve

So did I understand correctly, your favorite jacket these days would be one that makes you look like an ass? ;)

How long have you had your Thedi..and how do you like it..??

HD

I’ve had it for couple of months now. It’s my absolute favorite leather jacket at the moment. First jacket that I have had that I’ve thought about having second one in different color and hide. The fit is second to none and the 3,5 oz veg tanned goat looks and feels absolutely great. You’ve made a good choice!

I don't think age matters so much as 'can you pull it off?'...and that has more to do with demeanor, physique, fitness, facial features...so many things really with age being not nearly as important. Lots of younger guys can't pull off a look any better than an old dude, but I digress lol. For me, if I was going with a cross zip and D pocket, I would want to subdue some of the other features. Nice leather jackets are already statements in and of themselves given hardly anyone wears them nowadays. Given that I would prefer to go a little more conservative if I had some features that really stood out like cross zip patterns or D pockets, I want to be able to wear the jacket anytime or feel comfortable doing so. I am not a fan of lots of lapel snaps, epaulets, arm pocket zips, nor the belts, and as someone else said, I would maybe go with brass for a subdued look. Patterns like the Gambler or Hooch Hauler are really nice and understated, sure there are tons more I am not familiar with. But at the end of the day, wear what you like and wear it proudly, we only go around once. Some really beautiful jackets posted in this thread.
