Yesterday rain, freezing sleet and then the resultant ice. This morning heavy snow. The recent spate of weather is become taxing in efforts to enjoy it.

Outside chores this morning were done in a bigger brimmed vtg.Dalton. This vtg. fedora is in excellent vintage condition.

This hat has "Mystery Felt."

Mystery felt is according to the stamp on the leather sweat. The felt is incredibly malleable for dress weight and holds the new crease without effort. The bound edge treatment has heft to the ribbon used.

Yesterday I wore my Buckaroo crossover hat. I also received this tweed overcoat I found on eBay and it seems to go along pretty well. I am new to tweed. Might explore those a bit.

That is a fine looking hat! The colors are so nice, and go great with the coat.

One of my favorite Buckaroo's around these parts. I don't wear a lot of tweed but I know when it looks good. If the dog approves, what more needs to be said?
Good call! Tasha knows best, anyway!

I agree with BB, Jeff. My favorite too. If you ever decide to make it look more from that period in time I think it would look real good with a center crease.
Thanks, HJ, I'm not sure there's enough crown to have just the center crease, but that would be interesting to try. Mike did such an amazing job on this one (it was a natural wild hare felt) that I'd be afraid to screw with it. Maybe it's time to find some low level westerns to experiment with.

That is a fine looking hat! The colors are so nice, and go great with the coat.

Now there's a great hat, Dog! So many great things about it. Love the crease, color, and flange.

Dalton thin ribbon OR clone. My first Dalton and an early acquisition in my hat buying and wearing life. Also my first dealing with Gus Miller, who cleaned it up and helped me with the fit.

My favorite of all of your Dalton collection. I think it is the thin ribbon and that impressive brim that makes it for me.

Overcoat and a fine English bowler today for a trip out in the snow. Here in Oregon, 2" is a major event, closing down the Willamette Valley (I know, we are snow wimps). A recent (possibly 1970s) Dunn & Co. in a nice gray. The liners on these are hard to date. I still have some stretching to do on this one, rides a little high on the noggin. Love the curl of the brim, classic.

Finished up this 1 1/2 Burgundy ribbon work on my Silverbelly Stagecoach conversion. I originally had a thin ribbon on it but it never looked right to me with its tall crown. I was hesitant at first to put a contrasting color against Silverbelly but this Burgundy seemed to work out pretty decent. Not the right outfit for this hat, though. I'll have more later in the Conversion Corral....
