Borsalino Qualità Extra Extra Superiore, size is 6 or 59 cm. US 7 3/8

It is the gift of a dear friend who has lived on the wild side of life, despite our differences, friendship is strong and fraternal

The Borsalino arrived in poor conditions, moths, dirt and other faults

I decided to "save" for two reasons: the affection for my friend and its age, I also add that it is one of the rare Borsalino in my possession, sold in the Borsalino store Verona, my town. It was restored in Milan, Sergio Melegari was the hatter

It was probably built in the late 1930s, see the inside label. Color is "Narvalo" and the type "Ergosca"

Have a nice Monday and God bless the donor, he deserves now a quite life
That's a nice one, Daniele. I really favor the thin ribbons.

Thanks Dennis... the modest dimensions create a shape that reminds me of the style you have worn for years.

Alan, you've got me figured out. I do like modest moderate hats and furnishings. It amazes me that you remember my posts. My memory seems to be fading. I do remember you as having lots of style and pizzazz. I have been away for several years as I acclimated toward the Florida climate.......... Hey, did I see you on TV the other day? I could have sworn it was you wearing a hat.

Alan, I know this one. :) BilCal (Bill & Caldwell) were well known importers so not sure if there was a store. My guess is the branding was for America but the hats were redirected to the Czech market.

Bill & Caldwell "Importers of Stiff, Soft and Straw Hats" (from an Borsalino advertisement in The American Hatter March, 1922)
