Great Homburg Max. It’s a good look on you. I have a bunch of Burgs, if they looked like that one i might wear them.
Is it blue?

Yes. It is my best Homburg by far.
It's a MacLachlan! I'm a big fan.

Isn't a shame the Scots were too drunk to fight a decent battle at Culloden? My grandfather was Scottish, and even as removed from being a Scot as I am, it irks me.

A nippy 5 degrees this morning. A Champ Featherweight for my brief survey of the yard.

Will have to wear something considerably more substantial if I decide to go out today.

I often work on jobs with a bunch of guys who went to Iowa & Iowa State, & are huge college basketball fans. We have all become good business friends. In 2011-2012 we were involved together on a 2 yr project in NV & on weekends would go into Vegas when we could. We were there during March Madness once & talked about going back some yr during the finals. So in March 2014 we met in Vegas to watch all the semi-finals & finals from tourneys around the country. We booked our rooms, placed bets & watched games all from the casino. Had a great time!

When we arrived at the airport we caught a limo together. When the driver pulled up in front of the casino, there sat Pete Rose. On the sidewalk under the casino canopy he had 2 cafeteria style tables set up "L" shaped. On one table he had 3 TV's, on the other table he had a couple dozen baseballs & about a dozen baseball caps all laid out. He was selling autographs for $25.00 a pop & if you didn't have something "suitable" to sign he would gladly sell you a baseball or ball cap which he would autograph.

One of the guys asked the limo driver who worked for the casino if Rose was there as a promotion for the casino. The driver said no & that Rose shows up several times a yr during big sporting events. The casino didn't mind because Rose bets all the money me makes on autographs inside the casino on sporting events; it wasn't because Rose was a draw for the casino. Pete watches the games he bets on while hawking his autograph. He continues to place bets as the games play out. The driver said Rose has an Asian wife who is often with him but I didn't see her.

Sad, really. Pete was overweight & looking bad. And it was that fall or maybe the next yr that Fox Sports used Pete on the NLCS for the first time. On TV I saw he was wearing the same pair of yellow snakeskin cowboy boots as when we saw him in Vegas.
Yeah, I haven't seen him in person since Cooperstown when we went to see Larkin go in. He sets up at various places that week to sign autographs, but scoots boots before the induction.

I actually have an autograph around here somewhere I got when I was a kid. Didn't pay for it, either. Oughta be worth something for that alone!

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Cold and windy as hell. The public debut of the Knox Westlite I found last Friday.

This one sports some unfortunate moth bites at the crown just beneath the bow, but hey, I don't care.

Knox Westlite and the Unfortunate Moth Bites is the name of my Echo & the Bunnymen cover band.

Greetings All:
Today...a new to me Borsalino Gorasgu “Silchi”. A very nice overwelt 2 3/4” brim that doesn’t mind where you put it. Actually neither does the rest of the hat.
Another Borsalino done right.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: as always thanks for all the kind words.
B
