Brent before you buy, this might help.
L to R all vintage.
Stetson Game Warden hat. Leather sweat.
Stratton Lawman type. Cloth sweat.
Stetson Ranger type. Leather sweat.
All great hats.
The Stetson weaves breath much better than the Stratton weave as seen in pics. The Stratton cloth sweat is most comfy.

Thanks Steve... I love those hats that fit only for a day or two following a haircut. They are kinda like a Brigadoon hats. ;^)

Thanks, Bowen. I’ll be on the lookout for a Stetson to go with the Stratton I just bought. These are more my style of summer hats than fine Panamas...not that I’m not also looking for one of those too.

I have been out since before sunrise getting things done. Dog walk in a vtg.Stetson (light tan felt with a sage ribbon treatment).

Back home and started some yard clean up started in a Mallory homburg (inky blue with maroon binding edge). Homburgs need more head time!

A simple old Stetson "Aristocrat" in Standard Quality. Not as old as the 1925 ad - late 1930s on this one. The $8.00 price has been nibbled down to $7.50 by the depression. Note the wind cord button stitched through the bow with removable loop that affixes to a coat button rather than a buttonhole... a subtle twist that appeared with Stetson c.1940 and then disappeared as quickly. One of many Kleinhans sold hats that I've purchased from points far from home.

Hückel Weilheim "Derby" possibly late 1950s and a recent arrival. Hückel Weilheim made fantastic Homburg Hats.

Good looking homburg, Jonathan. The remodel has kept Mike quite busy from what I hear from him. He's looking forward to returning to the fold soon though.

Nice one, Eric. A homburg for yard work! Looks great. I have a hat on order from Art and I keep thinking I want a VS homburg and you keep reinforcing that idea!
