Hey all!
Been a while. Thought I'd drop in and say hi. :)
All the nice Panamas and other straws on parade in the last few days reminded me that I have this Optimo Superfino. And that I should wear it and share it!

And if I photograph it just right you can't see the big crack in the brim...
Have a great day!

Good to see you around, John. Definitely a superfino weave in that hat.

A nice cool morning so I pulled this velour out of the pile.

The change of weather has finally arrived over the weekend
View attachment 178792
The temperatures stabilized on the Italian summer values between 30 and 31 Celsius degrees (around 86 fahrenheit)
during the central hours of the day

Today, early in the morning, I walked to take advantage of the fresh air and watch the world wake up with a PHD on the head

My best compliments for all the hats I saw in these weeks and I haven't commented.
Thanks a lot for you likes and kind words on my rare appearances on the FL

Thanks Bowen. I must confess that I am very eclectic in the choice of hats, in short, when I like a hat I buy it as it is.
I don't have any conditions, this panama, blemished for some darker straw in the woven, I liked it a lot so bought it.
The only drawback is the leather sweatband which during the summer is a torture.
Have a good day

Y'all are KILLING it with lots of lovely lids of late, lads!!

I am traveling to western Massachusetts today, so a western seemed right.
Digging deep into the hats of my past, a Resistol straw purchased at Cutter Bill's as a gift for me by my late father-in-law in the early 1980s...

A cool Resistol straw with plenty of ventilation. Nice.

Absolutely gorgeous hat, John. The weave is incredible; a repaired tear wouldn’t deter me from wearing it either.

Thanks Brent!
It's not a tear in the brim, but a section where a straw was pulled out of the weave and the brim cteased along the weak spot. Looks kinda like a run in a stocking. But I can'r see it when it's on! :)
Super(duper)fino ... indeed :)
It sure is! And thanks.
Great to see@moehawk on the board. Hi, John!

Temps have cooled off a bit. This unlined Playboy is perfect for the day.

Hi Jim! Good to be seen!
Playboy is looking sharp. Still want to find one of those. One that fits ME, anyway... :)

Thanks Bowen! Good to see you (and everyone else) too! Things are good up here in NorCal. I'll have to shout from the rooftop more often. :)
