Wore this Cornett (Wegener brand) Homburg today for a little outing.

Love the brim on that one, Steve. Great look all around.

It looks like it has an O.P.S. tag which, I think, makes it a 50-53 model. Brent @deadlyhandsome help me out?

Sorry about “the look”. I was merely in deep concentration mode trying to figure out how to hold a phone for a hat selfie. I’m new to this tech stuff. My last phone was a Motorola Razor. Serious! LOL. Are there any tips on how to correct my sideways Avatar pic ?
It’d be more correct if the pic was backwards! [emoji12]
Thanks for all of your likes and comments. This place is very accommodating. View attachment 189275
Anyway, here’s just another OR from the late forty’s or early fifties. I’ll be wearing it to church tonight.
Maybe y’all can help me pinpoint the birth of this hat closer.

Forgot the insides, sorry. Here we go. View attachment 189276
I stretched it an eighth to fit my one quarter noggin with no damage to the hat and the crown is yet plenty square. The 8th inch tag has ten dollar price. Wow. No money could buy it now[emoji7]

Greetings All:
Today....another Gorasgu Borsalino. The felt of this Palladio grey marvels me more probably than any hat i have. It is probably the thinnest, lightest, most dense felt with a consistency of color and texture of any hat i own. How the makers could fashion such a thin layer of animal hair into a uniform, homogenous hat body boggles my mind. To say moldable is an understatement. The weight of the air nearly collapses the crown.
A vast departure from the earlier posted long haired Gorasgu’s.
Be well. Bowen

You seem to have a well of enviously desirable Borsalinos B. Cudos to another one.

Ah, yes sir. Your eyes are better than mine today!
Thank you for y’all’s dating info.
I ABSOLUTELY appreciate the Lounge and its members. Hope to become a regular. I’ve loved hats long and hard and am happy to find out there is a place I can fit in.
I just can’t believe all the hats I’m seeing! They are all so nice and their condition is marvelous!

Thanks a million, Steve.
Don’t have as many nice, vintage personal lids as you all have, but I love the fabulous Fourteen I do own. I’ve accumulated around twenty vintage fedoras (mostly sixties stingys) that don’t fit my head and wouldn’t mind trading all of them for just one of the beautiful toppers I’ve seen at the lounge...just today, for instance. Never knew so many mint condition early felts existed.

You're so welcome, Randall. Sounds like you have a great collection. Post away and see who you can trade with.

I'd say yours is post-'53, but almost certainly pre-'60.

Pics of the sweatband markings would be nice, too.
