A very dark, damp, and cold day in my part of the world. To cheer me up, I wore my @Randall Renshaw Adam Majestic conversion with Randall's wonderful bow treatment. Who says black hats are boring?

Have a good weekend folks.

20C degrees in Tokyo, may take out the Gannon and new bespoke Co-respondents... View attachment 282202

A Gannon hat is always appropriate and top-shelf, and those shoes are spectacular. No pun intended. I would love to see the entire ensemble.

I try hard to never be a spectator to the day!

I hope your breakfast is tasty! Cheers, Eric -
Eric, I always enjoy seeing your varied and extensive Whippet collection.

Very cool Charlie. And this one seems to have the opposite binding pattern to Eric’s whippet having a wider binding on the bottom than the top.

Thanks, Joe!
The binding is out of the ordinary, although a few similar have been posted. The dusty rose trim was a thing for a short time, and I’m still not 100% sure this wasn’t previously a homburg.

Wow Reggie... that sure is sharp! Hufvud does beautiful work. What art your impressions in hand?
Thank's Joe. The hat is very well made. Mikael Einarsson has an artist's flair for hat-making and really appears to take the craft seriously. The stitching, bow work, and attention to detail are evident. The 50x beaver felt is what I would consider medium weight and is certainly malleable as I had to lower the crown some from its original configuration. It has a dimensional brim 2 5/8 front to back and 2 3/8 on the sides and has a nice feel and snap. It's a fun hat.

Thanks, Reggie. @Randall Renshaw is a master when it comes to conversions, ribbon/bow treatment, and innovative sweat stitching work.
Thanks a whole lot, Steve and @Dlaniger and @Blare .
I still view myself as a student.
No doubt a student who has learned a lot over the last year.
I’m now learning a lot about dyeing vintage grosgrain.
Mixing dye colors on vintage ribbon that already has a light hue of some color you’re trying to change is like voodoo alchemy!
Wish I could find a source for good new ribbon having the same workable properties as the vintage stuff.
I’ve visited Hufvud’s hat site and was impressed with the look of quality work and the use of artistic flair.
It’s satisfying to find out that while in hand their quality is just as good.
Thanks, Reggie.
