LOVE this one Terry. I'm not much of a cross zip fan and that's mostly the Ralphs Pugh jackets that I see.

RP produced a variety of jacket styles in addition to their cross zips. I've seen two traditional half-belts from the 50s, adjustments in line with the half-belt. Both of those were steerhide. They did do an somewhat odd assortment of civilian non MC jackets. They do have some common patterns. Their cross zip styles are the most common seen for sale today. Many were motorcycle or police uniform jackets. I have found their products for sale along the west coast Washington, Oregon. and in the west; Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma

I gotta have this collar in my life!

I thought you would like that. A signature feature among Ralphs-Pugh jackets. Just a bit of Blue Collar Flair.

Need a video on this one

I will post one. I think I have one ready.

What a New Year! Lots of Vintage threads are coming. I've got a Taubers coming in the mail tomorrow, complete with collar. I just love those original snap on collars. The pictures were OK, but not really sure how totally nice it is. Will see tomorrow and can compare to the auction pictures.

This jacket completely surprised me when it showed up. Listed with a decent BIN, but also offer. I made a good offer then waited..it had just been listed so I thought a quick reply would save me a few $. I soon realized I would be greatly disappointed if it got away, so I just paid the BIN! I've done this before. Needs some work, may even fit. No label. It is something more than it looks.

Two packages coming from Japan both made in California. A completely cool Vest from San Francisco c.1940.

A motorcyle jacket from Los Angeles, not Cal leather or California Sportswear. This jacket is so rare and in such excellent condition that I'm won't be sure it is not a reproduction until I get it in hand. Breathtaking. I am quite sure this jacket is in the Grail category for many here.

I know other nice Vintage jackets are coming in from others here.

For the second time now, I have stumbled across the same style, and presumably brand, of jacket that is being sold by two different sellers. Both are saying it is from the 40s / 50s, possibly horsehide, etc. Kinda curious about them now just because this is the first time I have seen a jacket brand unknown to me listed twice. Here are some pictures:

First seller:

Second seller:

Any ideas who the maker could be? I do not think it is as old as either seller is dating it to be, but I have not really done that much research yet.

The Talon tear drop zipper pull dates to the 60s.

Wow! I thought this thread was dead. I missed all these recent post of very cool jackets.

I think this Alaskan is about as good as is gets. I believe I have seen this jacket before. It is certainly Book worthy. I have seen the label, but rarely. The quality of the leather can easily be seen.

A good example of Vintage leather quality. I have a few jackets in this league. Not all vintage (old) jackets are the same. David Himel talked about this in a recent podcast. Jackets from the 30s are just extraordinary and some even more so

I came here to post this video that someone on my youtube channel ask about. A nice look at some winter leathers. I have since found a date in the Hercules jacket, March, 1932. As you can see, it looks like new.

Those Barnstormers are freaking amazing. The big one definitely fits better than the Hercules, specially because allows layering.

Wow, this Alaskan is beautiful. It's it yours? What does the back look like?

Edit: nevermind. By now I've scrolled up :)

I just stumbled across this thread today, not sure how I previously missed it.

Thanks for starting this thread Terry, it’s a wonderful idea and what a load of rare and wonderful and fascinating jackets are getting posted! Thanks to all posting these treasures, really interesting and envy inducing! Hope to see more getting posted over time.

But having drooled over the entire thread in one sitting, I feel like I need a lie down! Not had such an overdose of jacket porn since I bought the Rin Tanaka book and forgot to go to bed as I was so absorbed!

Not had such an overdose of jacket porn

I've thought about a thread called Jacket Porn with a less erotic title. Just picture after picture.

I bought this Californian last night. To me, this is a great find even in this condition. I'm thinking this Calfskin is so unique and so much like a Sears Topline it will say they were both made by California Sportswear Co.
