Good to hear that you found one in your size and hopefully Watanabe-San was as helpful as he was when I ordered the Centinela. Looking forward to fit pics! After many months of deciding which jacket from FW i liked more and searching different japanese websites looking for something in my size, finally decided to pull the trigger and get one Centinela. Was also inspired by @Robbie79 with his Centinela
the actual photo of the jacket i will get. Ordered from Genco. Amazing cooperation from Watanabe
finally i will have my first FW leather jacket after seeing so many posts as well from @dudewuttheheck here and on instagram and realizing i have to own a FW jacket![]()
No, it was from Aero trainee's tab. I probably will end up going custom with them as I cannot seem to find a good fit from their stock.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. You could order a Field Leathers (like everyone else) instead...
What makes that market prices for one vintage brand are higher than prices for another? Is it:
-Quality
-Availability/Rarity
-Coverage in Rin Tanaka's books
-Heritage of the maker
I think I already know the answer, it's probably a combination of the above plus the size of a particular jacket.
But sometimes I wonder why people are willing to pay 1k+ on some Buco, even though the quality of the particular jacket isn't any better (maybe even worse) than a 250-300 jacket from the same era that doesn't carry a Buco label.
we are waiting to see how it looks in the elevatorCoolest set ever. Mint condition.
The pants fit, the jacket doesn't.
Best news is that I found the exact same jacket in size 42 (my size) and that it's now coming my way.

Buco are great patterns and I for one and believe many other collectors will pay more for a jacket with the jacket makers' label than for jackets with a retailer's label like Hercules or Windward. I do not put much stock into the Rin factor. Rarity is a large factor. Buco prices are 20% of what I seen leather togs sell. I have seen labels I never heard of sell for double Buco J-24 prices. In the last twenty years, I have purchased two jackets that wer new made to order and the Aero was an insurance replacement of a stolen jacket. I have paid more for some of my vintage jackets than I did for the two made to order jackets
So do I understand you correctly that you say one vintage brand is more expensive than another, because it is better known to a wider audience? What makes that market prices for one vintage brand are higher than prices for another? Is it:
-Quality
-Availability/Rarity
-Coverage in Rin Tanaka's books
-Heritage of the maker
I have thought about this very question. Here is my take:
It is lack of interest/knowledge/experience.
If you have interest their are few sources of information and experience can be expensive.
There is much knowledge here that is not in "The Books". We wrote "The Book" on Sears Motorcycle jacket here. We have uncovered other jackets and makers connection that were unknown. The threads here are full of vintage/used jackets. I'm always learning something new here.
The knowledge base is always growing and The Lounge is increasingly a resource for that knowledge. There is more knowledge/information here on Cafe Racers than anywhere else I know.
