How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Amazing jacket, Mysteryo! I remember seller used "cossack collar" in the auction description. What's the difference between mandarin and cossack collar? I've made a research but nothing instructive found.
Same thing, different terminology.
Dave Himel explains it in one of his videos about the Kensington, if my memory serves me well.
Cossack is more used for jackets like the Mister freedom Campus, or Himel heron. And mandarin is more for cafe racer (shirt racer) like Buco J00, brooks cr….

My first old jacket.
Probably too expensive, but for my measurements there is little choice. With a little luck it might just fit me.
If not... I might send it to Five Star :D

Yeah, the term is interchangeable but from what I read, some Cossack uniforms or whatever had diagonal closing so could be he's referring to that. Like that Langlitz. But I think it's the same thing; Prussian, Russian, Mandarin... It's all short, stand-up collar.

no I will leave it be, this is the cheating start to get a faded leather jacket I would ever get to fade in my own lifetime... :D

Apparently the blotchiness was not that severe from this morning when I check, cloudy black, but not corpselike the way pictured yesterday. I like the round cutout for the pocket, the raw edges is polished before, being joined with the welt.

It looks better on that lighting but you lost that running start fade that you wanted lol Hope you get it soon.

I received my new larger unfinished HH jacket from IH yesterday. Here are a couple shots of it right out of the box:

I threw a coat of Pecards on the jacket right after taking these photos. It darkened up quite a bit, almost to a caramel color in some places, but as the conditioner absorbed into the jacket it lightened back up.
Here’s a shot of the jacket post treatment:

This jacket feels nice and substantial and the smell is simply intoxicating. I’m really looking forward to breaking this one in.

Lookin’ good!
You might want to get a container of the Pecards oil and a sponge or paint brush. Using the paste would be seriously time consuming if you’re going to do it often.

That’s a great suggestion, I was not looking forward to going through that ordeal again soon so I will look into this.

Thanks!! it is still a vegtan natural core, with single layer patting bun application with pigment and unvarnished/ uncoated , still my best chance to fade it. :D in stronger lighting I can see some uneven ness, but nothing blue and purple like rotting squid the guy photographed it the day before.

amazing if you realize you start with light jacket with darker stitching, then at some point you have tan jacket with tonal stitching, and some time later you end up with brown jacket with light stitching.

That’s an interesting point. I think you’re right that the stitching will always contrast in one way or another from the jacket as the natural leather darkens with age.

Super stellar El.
You will be a good one to put it through the evolution most won’t endeavor.

Thanks Bowen!
I’m sure going to give it a try, I know that there will be a big pay off if I do.
Too friendly lol
The two are so similar that they could be fraternal twins :D
I am curious to see how the treatment affects aging.
I'm too lazy to do that and leave it to time.
Yes, I’m curious myself as to whether the Pecards treatment will ultimately slow or hasten the evolution of the jacket. It certainly darkened it up a little bit but I think it also offers some protection against marks and stains that would occur on an untreated jacket.

How I love trenchcoats, but I could never buy something that remotely resembles the black trenchcoat that's synonymous with The Gestapo. This example looks nothing like that:
peacoat1.jpg peacoat2.jpg peacoat3.jpg peacoat4.jpg
But instead of just making a bid on the auction site, I dithered, to the point that when I finally made up my mind, it was too late. Rats!
