How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

the only thing that's making me pause that it's not a Cal is the belt straps are the "right" way and not the usual reversed Cal way. But I don't know if that's just a vintage thing and the newer ones have it with the snap on the top piece. that liner definitely screams cal, the weave belt, and just the overall vibe.

Lots of owners reversed them on the vintage jackets. The Leatherman stuff had them the right way, the few I’ve seen with the loops. Another piece of evidence it is a more recent Cal. It’s an awesome jacket. I’ll take pics of it tomorrow.

Cal. Are the zips YKK? Is the hide super thick but pliable? Then a more contemporary version. What are the measurements of the 42? Cal sizing is a bit ad hoc as you move out of the 70s. Beautiful. I would love to own that jacket.

If it’s a true vintage one then I am truly jealous. Talon main zip. Then you are going back in time. Serval/Conmar, way back. Would love to see better pictures. You know who to message if you ever want to move it on. And welcome to TFL.

Edit: Based on the front pocket pulls, if they are original, I’m leaning full into contemporary (last 30 years or so). I have one that isn’t padded. They are amazing jackets.

Measurements are 22” p2p, 22” back of neck seam to waist, 24” sleeves, and the front panels extend about 2” farther than the back. I’m a regular 42 and it’s a tad short but nothing drastic. I’ll take some pictures of it tomorrow.

Zips are unfortunately YKK!

I think it may be a Cal. There is mutton by the wrists and the tag by the inner pocket looks to have been removed. This thing absolutely puts my copycat Branded Garments jacket to shame.

It's Cal for sure. Okay, maybe Al but I don't think so. Probably had the Leather Man tag, though. Early 90's?
Whatever it is, it's the most *********, full-on Cruising rig that I've seen as of yet. Which is of course meant as a compliment of the highest order. Never saw that short one with belt loops.

Very nice. I have the same jacket without the padding. Leatherman label but a Cal. I’ll post pics too. There are a few members with this jacket.

My first old jacket.
Probably too expensive, but for my measurements there is little choice. With a little luck it might just fit me.
If not... I might send it to Five Star :D

Unfortunately, my first second-hand purchase of a jacket, without having seen it in real before, was not crowned with success.
The condition is somewhat worse than the photos suggested (at least for me as an untrained person) and the seller and I have different assumptions about how the length of the body and sleeves are measured. Thus, both are clearly too short. Knowing the actual measurements, I would not have bought the jacket.
At some point, one of the previous owners must have had the glorious idea to remove the elastic bands between the gussets. Or else, the jacket never had any. Either way, it doesn't look good without functioning gussets.
In addition, there is an unpleasant smell, which is certainly very subjective. But I am also very sensitive.
The seller was very eager and he is not to be blamed, but I did not ask the right questions or ask for the right photos. The ones I got, I interpreted as having a good reason to buy.
So now I have a jacket that I would like in principle, but it doesn't fit me and I paid way too much for.
I check it off as teaching money. lol
I'm afraid I will buy new jackets again in the future.

But I will present the jacket in a separate thread (Sears, Roebuck and Co, U.S.A. The Leather Shop).

Just had this Aero Leather C3 delivered - greedbay £130 offer accepted. I was a bit worried about the 21.5” pit to pit given my 43” chest but it’s actually just over 22” and the fit is perfect. I’ll be able to wear my A2 and A1 in the colder weather now with this underneath.
I’m ok with the wear patina - it’d soon have looked like this within a few weeks of wearing had it been new. It doesn’t have the horsehide semicircle sewn to below the ‘collar’ area on the back and is marked regular rather than a size in inches so I suspect it’s an older model?

Just picked up this beauty. I have no idea who the maker is, looks like it could be a Langlitz or Cal - but absolutely no idea. Hide is the heaviest I’ve ever seen. Size 42. Probably looking to get a collar made by JL. If anyone can help with identifying it, it would be much appreciated. This thing is an absolute beast!

Also, new to the lounge!

Welcome to FL! Did you pick this up in Russian Hill, San Francisco? I say 'cause a jacket like this was for sale there a while ago. Congrats, you'll feel tightly embraced by this beast as well as all its weight on you.

That's awesome. I bought a new one, dark seal, few months back when aero was having sale. I think the C3 only comes in lettered sizes. Mine was a large- 22 ptp, 24 back and 21 waist. It's a little baggy and prob could have fit a medium since it's stretchy sheepskin. But I'm mostly going to wear around the house so it's ok it's more relaxed fit.

That redskin is nice though. Hit me up if you ever sell

I finally gave in: I bought @Colin G 's Dehen N-1 and it arrived yesterday. I'll be posting pictures of it in the future when the weather warrants it being worn. Although the shearling lining is very thick and makes for an ever-so-slightly tight fit, it's still a good size. Plus I'm guessing these extra 10 summer pounds aren't helping.

Colin was great to buy from! Answered all my questions, payment was a breeze, and he shipped out quickly. Jacket arrived ahead of schedule (nice job Canada Post and USPS!).

What a beauty! The vegtan cow leather really is something else - congrats!
Fifteen days after finalising my custom order, it just arrived in Texas. Fit is perfect, the leather is amazing and I initial impression is great. More to follow, once I have time to really get to know it.

Ah - I see now with a closer look at the rippling of the hide this is the vegtan sheep not vegtan cow - both are great and the former has a lovely soft hand from the get-go, with zero break-in needed. Are you planning on making the jump from ovine to bovine next?M

I didn’t think I really liked any of their styles but yours is really really nice - which style is it based on please? (to save me looking).
