What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Inspired by the recent posts of @Steve1857 I figured that my black hats need some more love. I can't promise that I'll manage to complete a full series but I can at least try.
First in the "prewar black soft-felts" series (I think I'll leave velours for another chapter) a Thibet Castor, courtesy of the fantastic enabler @Daniele Tanto

Nice Panos… definitely does have a vibe very much similar to Steve’s new hat.

Added a wider ribbon on my Resistol, nothing special just some craft store ribbon. My first attempt at making a ribbon band, not satisfied with the bow. Its asymmetrical lol

Good morning from a rainy cool 37'f (3'c) Minnesota. My Akubra TFL BGCD (The Fedora Lounge Blue Grass Camp Draft (2.5" brim)) did duty in the light rain.

As you can see I have removed the liner from the hat. When I wear the hat doing chores the liner keeps the humidity high. With high humidity the sweat gets damp and the top of my bald pate gets wet. In the cooler temps this clammy feeling is awful. Without a liner the humidity is less and I am more comfy.

Is the 2.5 brim an option? I’d love to have a good rain hat but I’ve never considered buying a CD because the ones I’ve seen are 2 7/8. Beautiful color and looks great!David

David; This was a special that The Fedora Lounge worked out with with Everything Australian a long while ago (circa 2012-13), https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...stralian-akubra-camp-draft-2-5-8s-brim.66763/ . My first day with the hat post 2/12/13 is here - https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...-draft-2-5-8s-brim.66763/page-22#post-1589319 .

So I’m nine years late to the party? Too bad—what a great idea. Looks like a perfect hat for the elements. Best, David

My experience has been the Akubra has proven itself to be a go to hat for tough weather. Perhaps enough interest can be garnered to motivate a retailer/manufacturer to produce another "special brim width?"

Has it really been 9 years? Geesh.

Best, Eric -
