Ah, ok. This makes sense! I was questioning this myself. The listing said playboy so I ran with it- there are no playboy markings. The only playboy in that pic would be I. It is a Royal deluxe.
Thank you for clarifying as well as the compliment !

Good call on that Jim…. GREAT looking hat none the less.

I’d also like to see the inside though. Getting more 50s vibe than 60s.

Me too, Joe. Jesse, have you posted the innards anywhere for us to see? If not, can you, please?

Deadly...great pics/ great hat...But since I am just a no- class, rude idiot....Forgive Me for saying that the hat looks rather small for your head. Looks like the slightest breeze will take it from you. Is the hat, your usual size?

Thanks. Gannon makes a great hat. This hat fits like a glove. It’s 61.5cm long oval and custom made to fit me. The hat fits perfectly on my head and stays in place. Do you wear your hats pulled down closer to your ears?

Hi Deadly, yes. That was noticable to Me in the first picture.
Maybe I'm doin it wrong.
I wear glasses and the frame/ glasses just fit between ear and where the hat brim rests...What say you?

Feeling lucky again. Scored an incredible deal on this Knox One Hundred “custom edge”. Color is light tan. While the case is missing a few items and is well worn- this hat, on the other hand, is in like new condition. Would love to hear your thoughts on this, as I haven’t seen too many. I will add this to the Knox thread.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to wear a hat. Some people wear them pushed back far on their heads, some wear them with the brim parallel to the ground, and some wear them higher in their heads and some pulled down low. For me it’s all about how it feels when I put it on.

Brent
3 1/2 crown as shaped
1 5/8 black grosgrain ribbon
2 1/8 brim with 3/8 bound edge

One of the two travel mates of the Lee GP clone, this Brent showed up a very dirty smooshed up mess. With two or three deep moth nibbles… one that goes clear through the felt. When cleaning and shaping, it seemed to want to settle into this sorta pork-pie teardrop crease. Not so much my preferred style… but a fun little change of pace. This crease manages to pretty much hide the moth divots so that works out. Might make a good hat to practice moth damage repair before attempting on a nicer felt. The brim certainly needs some work and overall might benefit from a good steaming.

@Frunobulax

I’ve attached of the inside. Thank you both for helping me crack down on this case

I would lean toward mid 1950s based on what I see so far.

I would agree on 50s (maybe late 50s). @Jesse John, if you want a better idea on dating your hat, you'll need to get better pics of the logo, for one thing. If the sweatband is in good shape, you should find re-order tags and the like behind it near the rear of the hat. If there is a Union label, that's helpful too.

So you're the lucky dog! You will likely never find a better hat at such a price. You may never find a better hat, period.
