Brent, I live in Rhode Island. Everything is expensive here. Our electricity and natural gas rates increased by 50% last year, and property taxes increased by 20%
The gas price in my neighborhood is close to $4.00, but I work close to the Massachusetts state line and their gas tax is much lower than RI, so when I'm close to empty I jump over the line and fill up.

I used to live on the Oregon border. I could drive into Oregon and fill up for 30% less and in Oregon they pump the gas for you. I can’t remember when I last saw a full service gas station in California.

Unique hat, Steve. With the thin ribbon very unusual for an English hat.
It's gorgeous, I love it. This morning I woke the MG up. After a good wash, (the pair of us, I can't wash a car without getting myself soaked,) we went out and about.

Parked up near the bank, I went to the ATM to get some cash out. Returning to the car I saw a fellow taking photos, it often happens. When he saw me he just grinned. "I have got to have a photo of you," he said. Can't see why but click away, and he did. Obviously I haven't got a copy of his photo, this is what excited him.

Sorry for rekindling an old photo, but you may get the chance to see the original. Before leaving the fellow gave me his business card, turns out that he's the editor of an online magazine. That card led to yet more surprises, you can see that on this thread: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/hat-stores-a-list.31181/page-13#post-3000424

I've been experimenting with the bash.
With it's tapered sides and green-dominant olive color, she's meant to be a sporty, casual hat, so I took the crown down in the front, raised it in the back, and pinched in the dents the way I like 'em. The result was a deeper crease and a sharp "vee" in the front instead of the bland broad front and shallow crease.
Satisfied, I went for a long walk on the foggy beach.

There you go, Robert. It was meant to be. Might there be a career as a professional model in your future?
