Eichenberger ca. 1930s wool felt Homburg.

Seems to have developed its own mule kick. The wide ribbon and basting stitch are the icing on the cake for me.

So grateful to Stefan for throwing this one into the box of hats I bought from him recently.

Here's a link to Stefan's original post about this one with specs and more photos.

Loving that homburg, Steve. Very classic.

Oberbayerische Hutfabrik gmbH. Miesbach "Edelweiss-Hut" "Chamois" possibly mid to later 1950s. The Chamois Felt is of very high quality. Found this NOS Chamois back in 2020.

Beautiful hat!

Not sure why, but “Oberbayern” was always my favorite geo-political name in German. It’s just so much fun to say! “Edelweiss Hat” is of course very appropriate for that region.

Thanks for showing!

I discovered that you can toggle the portrait mode on and off your photos-in case you hadn’t seen that feature. Just tap the button that says Portrait.

Perhaps my favorite of your hats. ;)

David
Thanks for that. I hadn’t realised you could turn it off after the event. The way it’s cut off the edges of my hat with such a sharp blur just looks weird.

Thanks for the hat compliment. Along with the Borsalino I got from Stefan, it’s probably my favourite, too. Oh, and the Homburg from Brent isn’t far behind. My top three all from Lounge members. (The Stetson came from the rarely seen @Lexybeast)

Nathan, Thank you! Miesbach was a center for Velour and other specialty finishes. I actually recently received an old Velour from Miesbach that is precursor of Oberbayerische Hutfabrik Miesbach. I haven't gotten around to taking photos of it.

Anton / Ernst Kohlndorfer were the most famous Miesbach company. Here is an old Ernst Kohlndorfer "Erko" Real Velour.

"Erko" trademark (Marke Erko) for Ernst Kohlndorfer Miesbach / Oberbayren Velour Hutfabrik.

Love that Mac Twenty, Jonathan!
An awesome caliber!

The strangeness of your cold winters probably beats the strangling wet heat of our summers!
As a Yooper I don't mind the cold winters, in fact, I welcome them. Wish we had more cold and snow. It's good for you, builds character.

Here we are a week later and the snow is all but gone already after having inches of rain this week. (It's actually raining again right now after the weather forecasters screwed the pooch. This latest wave was supposed to miss us to the southeast.) Middle of meteorological winter but you'd swear it was spring.

So to your point, yes, I'd much rather have cold winter over strangling, wet heat.
