Looking for some expert feedback on the fit of an Aero 50s Halfbelt that I recently got. It's CXL HH and has a way to go before it's broken in but I feel like I've at least gotten a start.
Appreciate any thoughts on the fit.

Figured I'd check in on this one, since it's so marginal. Jacket is a Y'2 HVR-42 in a 38, which is my typical sizing - 5'10" @ 160lbs. The jacket was actually bought by accident, since I thought I was buying a nicely patina'd KR-42. Have since bought a "new" KR-42 in a 40, which is roomier and debating whether to sell the HVR, since it seems silly to own two jackets so similar.

Nothing unusual or silly at all with owning two or more jackets nearly the same. In fact at various times, I've resembled this practice (not so much of late however).

Excellent fit, can't get much better!

Thanks for all of your feedback. I generally feel quite good about the fit. I have wondered, though, whether the jacket is bit too big across the back of the shoulders, but I suspect if it were any tighter this could restrict arm movement too much. I‘ll always go with slightly too big over slightly too small.

That is most likely the case, also many jackets seen here at the lounge are obviously too small to be comfortable so that may distort your view. As the jackets gets broken in, drape improves and the "extra" material in the back won't be so visible.

Hi all!
Finally picked up my first Aero leather jacket. Pre-owned Highwayman from another member and in great condition. Just wondered what you guys thought of the fit?

I’ve been threatening to get one for ages but was always weary about the fit.
This is a 38 standard size and personally I think it fits as it should. It fits just big enough to layer underneath as well as with a simple t shirt.
I do have a much tighter fitting type 1 indigo y2 leather when I want something a little more restrictive and fitted, image attached for comparison.
I also thought buying preowned would be the best way to see if I gel with the style, at least before I get a custom made one.
The way I see it with multiple jackets I can afford to have different fits for different occasions and in turn more versatility. Which also allows me to have less wear and tear on the jackets. Taken so far I only have the two high quality leather jackets but can’t see myself stopping there, to the detriment of my bank balance.

I think it looks good considering the highwaymans (highwaymen?) look boxy but well, makes you look chonky. I'm not a fan of this jacket cause of this. The fit on the trucker is perfect tho.

You can’t be putting a perfect-fitting fit pic of the trucker next to your fit pic in the highwayman, then ask us to judge you in a highwayman. That’s just criminal. In one pic, you look smart and stylish; in the other, you look like you have a dad bod. To be fair, it’s one of the better fitting highwaymans I’ve seen, but you’re one and done with that trucker. I suggest selling the highwayman and don’t even waste money on custom, you’re not going to get a better fit than that trucker. If you can buy OTR leather jackets, get them used to skip the break in process and save $1.5-2k each jacket while you’re at it.

*** to my head, here’s my thoughts on the highwayman: sleeve length is good, shoulder is fine, too much room in the back, chest looks roomy. It’s not a date-night jacket, it’s a beater jacket to go get gas or cut grass in.

If you plan to layer with the highwayman, maybe show us your fit pics with how you’d typically wear the highwayman, with your layered outfit.

Seems a bit roomy on the back and front. May have something to do with the boxy cut of this model.

Comparing a Highwayman with a Trucker jacket is largely irrelevant because they are obviously two different styles with deliberately different fits.
Personally I think the Highwayman looks fine and you’re unlikely to get a much better fit; however it might be worth loosening the side adjustment straps a bit more. This could allow the jacket to sit a little lower and so stop it bunching at the back when the jacket is fastened up.

Thanks fellas!

You’re right it’s seems pointless comparing the two jackets. But that wasn’t really my purpose. I just wanted to show the different styles on me.

In the zipped pictures I’m actually layered up a little although I’m sure I could probably fit another layer at a push.

It’s definitely a keeper and something definitely more versatile than the Y2 Type 1. Hoping it may bed in a little more over time as it’s still quite stiff and boxy at the moment.

I think they're okay when worn open, but not when closed. If you want a similar fit to the Trucker, maybe try a Premier Highwayman next time.

You look athletic and stylish in the trucker. In the other jacket you look like a different person. Passing you on a street corner wearing the Highwayman I would likely think sedentary old man. Someone who isn't interested in fashion. In the trucker my reaction would be. Wow! This guy is sharp! I would say the problem with the Highwayman is not the stiffness of the materials used. If it was made out of something flexible like wool it wouldn't be much better. Even using the best chunk of leather in the world you can end up with a jacket that is a dud because the pattern doesn't fit the end user. Twenty years of daily wear will not change that.

Thanks buddy. This really made me laugh .
Today wearing the Highwaymam with some white sneakers and a baseball cap felt really good. I think that’s where this jacket lives.

Hello, a week ago I got my first nice leather jacket, and I love it but I’m not sure about the fit, I want to wear it just with a shirt but is it overly tight, what’s your opinion? Thanks

It looks good to me. The café racer style is designed to drape the best when your arms are reaching forward to grip motorcycle handlebars. It should loose all the bunching in the back when you are reaching. Otherwise it looks great on you. If you plan on having it zipped when you aren't riding it will pull in the shoulders and chest area. It should fit very close to the body to keep the wind out. In the event of an accident you wouldn't want the leather sliding around.

Found this highwayman for a good price, its 15 years old, so already nicely broken in.

Took a bit of a gamble since this is my first leather jacket and had to assume what meassurments would be good, but i guess it worked out well.
