What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Hi! It's been a while.

I own over 600 hats, and have decided to sell most. I live in Mexico City, and the cost of shipping by DHL or Fedex is high, so I plan to visit my new grandson in NJ in about a month, take some of my hats with me, and leave them in my son's home to be shipped to buyers after I leave.

I am sorry to hear you are leaving the hat game. I loved your posts from a few years ago and only more recently have I moved from long-time lurker to active user. I will certainly be interested in looking at some of what you have and possibly be in touch. Your collection, as I recall, is first-rate.

Hi! I'm finally retaking an interest in things. Almost all my hats are 7 3/8, but I think I have a cinnamon Optimo that is larger. I will look for it later and reply.
It is too difficult for me to list all my hats in the Classifieds, though. I would rather take the ones that friends ask for to NJ with me and send them from there.

Today is tweed with hare hat. Spotted a few on this forum and fell for their charm so had a custom one made. On cooler and wetter days I can understand why they were/are popular in alpine areas.

Possible rain anytime for the next few days.. time to dust off a few Akubras. Today its a Coolabah. Brim on this one is trimmed down to 2-1/2"
The feathered band actually came off of a cheap stetson. I got an old Akubra pin someplace so it looks like it belongs. ( I was never fond of the uneven crocodile band it came with... that one looked like a drunk cub scout sewed it together lol)

For tonight - I finally have a Panama that works with this linen suit tough to get the white balance right on these. I should probably learn how to take pictures correctly.

With the obvious caveat that no guy wants to be called cute, I feel obligated to point out that you two are pretty adorable together. Living as an ex-pat in Japan seems like a fairy tale to me lol. I’d love to hear the back story on how this came about someday - assuming there is an internet-friendly version available.
