Today I pulled out my one and only bona fide bowler. This is the hat (not this one, specifically, this shape) that started me down this dark path about 20 years ago. I tried on a bowler in the hat shop in Charleston, SC, and I immediately thought "how 'bout that - I hat I don't hate on me". I had previously not been a "hat guy" at all - no baseball caps, nada.

I got the thumbs down from my wife, who said I would never wear it; too costume-y, so unfortunately I put back on the shelf. She may have cost me twenty years of hat-collecting, but probably saved me 20k and at least one marriage.

Anyway, we are making up for lost time, and this winter I will prove her wrong lol.
