I just got an original Chi Chi Rodriguez straw hat and I love it, even though I am not a golfer. Chi Chi's golfing career ended over 25 years ago. I don't know how old this hat is, but it is old. I like to wear straws and while I have some that are nicer, my Chi Chi is the most interesting...
This is not a great picture, but it does show the problem. The view is from the side of the hat. The brim generally slopes down, but there is a bump in it that is unattractive. I would like to get it out. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
I have Christy's foldable fedora. When I went out for a walk last night I wore it because there was a possibility of thunderstorms. And this hat was expendable. I got caught in a heavy downpour. The hat was not just wet, it was waterlogged. Now that it is dry, the hat seems to have shrunk a size.
Keith Christmas runs Alexander Hats in Charlotte. He is a very friendly and helpful fellow. The inventory is not massive, but I saw a few hats that were of interest.
I have three of Art's beauties. A rust with an olive ribbon, a dark moss with a black ribbon and a milan with a dark green ribbon. I wish it was enough...
I don't own any vintage hats. Perhaps because I don't have a vintage head. The few hats I have seen in my size just don't appeal to me. But I love custom hats. You get exactly what you want in precisely your size. What is not to love?
