You are not the only one. I had to watch it some years ago and could not laugh once the whole time.
The last one I watched was A River Runs Through It. Saw it years ago and still it is a nice movie for the long cold winter nights. Very nice shoots of the environment (esp. if you sit in a modern city with boring architecture). and a nice story too. I liked it a bit more calmed down (after watching Episode 3 and 4 of Boardwalk Empire).

I just recently saw "It's A Wonderful Life" for the first time ever on big screen with my mother. It was also her first time seeing it in theaters on the big screen and we could barely control our excitement. We watch it EVERY year at Christmas and have since I was too young to even remember. It was truly a wonderful night out with my best friend.

Thanks for that Tomasso - I can definitely see the Hitchcock influence in the style of the movie - all the clothes she wears are pretty timeless - now to see if I can get my hands on some of those Ferragamo shoes!!!!!!!!

"The Vanishing" a dark mystery film with a twist ending that makes the movie complete. This is the French version with sub-titles. There is an American version that starred Kiefer Sutherland but this film does not have the ending twist of the French film.

My son is off school ill today and we have just watched The Muppet Christmas Carol, lovely. For balance, we all watched the Alistair Simm version last week, which both kids loved ('Isn't that the man from School For Scoundrels mum?' - I'm exposing them both to my favourite films before they go all 'teenag-y' and refuse to watch anything without a chainsaw in it).
