This is more like what I was wearing *yesterday*, but here we are:

This photo was taken by my friend, outside the charity shop where I do my volunteer work. The light grey jacket was something I bought from the shop yesterday for just $10!!

It's in almost perfect condition (one teensy little stain. Even if the dry-cleaner can't remove it, it's barely noticeable) and it fits me perfectly! And trust me, that's like a one-in-a-million chance.

The jacket's a four-button double-breasted one, made by OPAL menswear, an Australian company.This is my first-ever double-breasted jacket. Never owned one before. I rather like it!

Select recent-modern military dress uniform pieces can be a great way to expand a vintage wardrobe as many of the designs (for the Brits, at least) changed little from the immediate post-war years until well into the Eighties at least.

Wow, fantastic bicycle you have there! How do you find those old rod brakes work out for you? From my understanding they're notoriously unsafe.

One of my dreams in life is to visit the Rhineland, preferably dressed in vintagey-gentleman style and riding a lovely bicycle such as you have! Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us.

Thanks ! Not unsafe, but you the brakes have not todays Standard !!!! Its better when yo have good soles on the Shoes *lol*

Bought a really awesome ivory waistcoat yesterday at a vintage clothing-shop. Here it is. I'm going for a sort of black-and-white summer look...even though down south, it's the middle of winter!

Nothing fancy, but it was Saturday and I had to take out the classic Camaro out for a spin. Wilson's Leather Jacket, RRL jeans, and a pair of 12 year old White's Farmer Rancher boots.

I had this suit made in Afghanistan about 3 years ago - the fabric kind of approximates the color of the classic Palm Beach suit, but not quite the texture - I think it was probably woven in Pakistan or India. The tailor did OK on the details - the width of the legs, height of the waist, patch pockets, etc. Worn with modern white shirt, Stacy Adams white captoes, 1940's painted tie, and Portis optimo hat.

Trying on some late 1950s suits today, debating about selling them.

Mid-1950s US suit by Scot Squire Delux, lightweight blue/black stripe:

Late 1950s/early 1960sBritish Burton "Mad Men-ish" suit, narrow lapels, heavy blue fabric. But very traditionally styled, button fly, forward pleats, suspender buttons no belt loops, etc. Almost mint condition like a new suit!
