Victory Rolls!

Another trick ...

... that works nicely for me to get cone shaped rolls that lie flat in the back: Start rolling backwards first (axis of the roll horizontal, ear to ear), then change the angle only after you have almost reached the scalp (axis front to back, slighltly upwards or whatever tilt you prefer).

Since my hair is longer than my arms can reach up I start rolling the strand around one or two fingers at half the lenghth. Wrap until I reach the ends, turn my finger(s) around once to slip the ends under the rest of the length towards the scalp. Pull out my finger(s), grab curl with my other hand and roll towards the scalp pincurl style. Change angle as explained above, pin.

Works well for my long, fine & thin, healthy and slippery hair. As long as it's pre-curled with setting lotion for a little grip and body I find that I don't need teasing or ratts, and only minimal hairspray to finish and tame flyaways.

I am determined to get victory rolls down as I love them so much! And they work in my shorter hair My hands just don't seem to want to work though >.<

As always, I should have checked for a thread....I've been sweating victory rolls andfound this thread today. Ithink I've got it. No pics because I didn't think what I've been doing qualified...until I saw the photos here. Thanks for all the inspiration, ladies!
