Not my dream hat but I'm pleased with the result. I have several dream hats that are beyond my wallet. This hat cost me less than $50 (+1h30 of my work)!
It already survived sweat test as today was a hot day (courtesy of Saara desert heat).

Hey all!
Not a new hat but a new refurb project that I found at a yard sale today for 3 dollars. It as two small holes, or one small hole and a thin spot on the crown and the previous owner used one of those eyelet tools on it to put a tie-down on. I removed those, and am going to try to refelt the holes. I disassembled it, washed it, and it is now drying on my block.
I know that the liner style was used from the 70's through the mid 90's, and I'm guessing that this hat wss made probably in the last 10 years or so of that time framecby the modern look of the sticker and paper sweatband label. What I don't know is the rest of the style name, as most of that part of the label is missing. If anyone can supply that, I would be grateful. The open crown is about 5 1/4 inches, the brim is 2 3/4 inches, it was open crown when I found it so I don't know what crease it had in it. The sweatband is real leather, not the fake stuff, and the band on it is a leather belt with buckle style. I don't know if it was original, but from the color fading pattern when I took it off it looks like it was there a long time.

RJR-I thought it might be a Revenger, but all the ones I saw online were 4X buffalo felt, while mine is 4X beaver. Maybe only newer ones are buffalo?
Joao- Looking closely at the ticket it seems to say just 3/4 on the brim size and it measures 2 3/4". And, sweatband has already been cleaned with saddle soap, crown will be decided later[emoji1]

Ok, brim mystery may be solved. It probably was 3 1/4" originally, but due to a couple of factors it is now shorter. Now that the felt is drying on the block I can see that my attempt at coaxing a bit more height out of the crown was more successful than I first thought. It looks like I reclaimed about 1/3" of brim and turned it into crown, due to the darker felt where the leather band used to be is now about that much higher up on the hat. I hope I can pounce off the faded felt, as I like the darker color. Add that to the fact that I noticed a few flat spots on the curve of the brim that tell me that a previous owner may have trimmed off bits of the edge at some point. Probably the same person that put in those stupid eyelets. Once it's dry I'll even it up as best I can. Will, of course, post pics of the finished product.

Echter Borsalino, size Point 6 1/2, near Mint condition, date stamped 17.5.29 (May 17, 1929). The felt is very soft / light weight with a unique box bow design for this style hat and also has a wind cord. It has an fantastic over welt curled brim and the non-reed sweatband is very finely stitched to the hat. I was able to take a photo of the paper label which has a hand written Point size and the words "Bismuto" (Bismuth) and "Sanboca" (?). This a the same model / seller as the previous Point 5 1/2 size Max Eckard Echter Borsalino.

I won't exactly call this a new hat, but I just modified it.
Yesterday, I experimented on an old, mangled, Scala panama. It originally was similar to this hat (mine was not that pricey.) However, my one was all mangled, and bent, as if one sat on it. So I decided to experiment on it. I cut the brim down to 1 3/4", reshaped the crown, and changed the ribbon. It's still a beater hat, but it looks better than before, even with it's glue stained ribbon!
