Block-Bilt: Website link-Never seen these jackets. Anyone?

I should hope they'll put up some real-world contact information soon - seems odd not to do that already, but they may be trailling the new site before it goes officially live.

www.Blockbilt.com has been registered too, and wee check showed that it was done by one S Toohey... by the looks of it, this was all done at the time AL changed its name to Simmons-Bilt. I guess the only still-to-be-confirmed-part is whether BK is involved. If only Andy F was still on the Lounge, eh?

I found this original Block bilt jacket, and it has a squared collar, maybe that American jacket is based on this?

Interesting. Presumably when AL rebranded as Simmonds Bilt, they were wary of that being mis-typed as 'Block Bilt', or maybe someone else buying the BB domain to compete against them.

This new lot do look much more in the style of BK, if it's any of the existing brands. Could also be somebody like American Classics creating their own brand too, I suppose. P

Our jackets are the best in the world made with superlative hides to exact patterns. If you were to shop anywhere else, you'd be an utter fool.

Doesn't exactly inspire the confidence to drop £800 into one of their jackets sight unseen with no track record behind them does it?

The jackets look good, right? They look a lot more refined than the AL/Simmons Bilt designs. I like the sub-trend for heritage US civvie jackets. But really, the nerve of these guys, starting a new jacket company without so much as thinking of asking permission here first.

Remembering previous boring dark hints at various posters in these sorts of topics, would like to mention that, after a too-long poor stretch, I'm looking forward to being able to afford a few days away, and heading up to G'shiels in a month or so to pick out a new (or 2nd hand) jacket or two from Aero, my fave Brit jacket maker. Whose leather is more than adequate for my needs. And whose styling is better than ever.

Please retread your spelling. Not block-bolt but block-bilt. Block-bolt takes you to the site

They look okay, but the prices are lunatic given the market and it's not as if there aren't other companies doing similar for more reasonable prices out there. If I was throwing £800 at a jacket of this ilk, I'd go with Thedi, or, if I was feeling a bit off-the-wall, BK themselves and their 'Warhorse' hide or whatever they're calling their current best-ever-ever-ever leather.

I think it's more the way they've done the business equivalent of donning a Groucho Marx disguise in attempt to flog their wares to people that's a bit 'mmph'. Tbh, I'll be surprised if they get much traction generally, it's a saturated market as it stands.
