Sometimes I'm lucky!
I found a Borsalino catalog of exactly thirty years ago. So you can choose your hat for autumn-winter directly. The A4 format catalog (21x29.7 cm) consists of 56 pages. It 'just arrived, meanwhile, be content with this the next few days I will scans the pages.
Along with it came other nice accessories of the Italian hatters, from a shop in the south closed a few years ago. I'm sorry to inform you that the hats have already been sold, I arrived late.

I have some Borsalinos that might fall in that time frame. It will be interesting to see if you post some model-numbers that match mine.
Such a great find, Daniele. It's a joy to see the pages from it. It must be even a greater joy to actually own the catalogue, read it, touch it, smell it. A true piece of modern Borsalino history. Congrats.

Fantastic find, Daniele. Very interesting. They mention the different finishes for the hats, but not available colours. I've come across the first type of hat (the heather 110333); incredibly soft hats, both the hand and the lack of structure.

Thank you for your appreciation. It is the first time I see a complete Borsalino catalog.
Two considerations, one technique: I have never seen, in my life of commercial photographer, a catalog executed so badly. Photographs are banal, poor rigorous layout and poor graphics. The texts, both Italian and English, present gross linguistic and typing errors. One, on products: thirty years ago Borsalino was a "gold mine" for the production of an infinite number of models, some lost in the folds of time, other fashion sons of those years, however, an unthinkable richness in a period in which the hats was completely out of fashion.
I agree with Stefan that there are no indications of the colors and that the language, in Italian, is a "code" for initiates to the art of the hat. It is always explained how the hat is formed, if pressed by machine or formed with the hands, all this in English disappears, as well as some explanations of the workings of the felt
You will find out at the end of the publication of the wealth present only thirty years ago at these latitudes.
How right you are, Daniele. However, the catalogue's interrest lies not in it's beauty, accuratness, nor linguistic elegance, all of which are lacking, but in its being a contemporary advertising piece of its time. That it is a piece of Borsalino history just adds to its alure.

Second, this is a very old (ancient) Borsalino, see the sample tag and others details
Third, I think it's part of a sample, my thought is a consequence of the paper label that shows all the details of the hat, put in evidence
About the Boss of the Plans interpretation I have some doubts
