Seriously, though.... it's the same old story: these catwalk shows are simply designed to be attention-grabbing, to make or maintain a name for the designer, create a brand. When the brand hits the shops, the actual clothes on sale will be quite, quite different.
Occasionally these sorts of shows do provide something genuinely interesting to me - see, for instance, the dress that Vivienne Westwood, well known for love of exploring British fabrics such as tartan and tweed, made entirely of traditional English carpet. Yes, carpet. For the most part, there's not much in such shows to interest me. That all said, to look at such designs in terms of actual street clothes is missing thep oint as to what they're about, really.
