Deffo a "winter jacket", the alpacka is through the sleeves as well. And no extra hairs on my shirt. Pockets OK. Handwarmers snug but bigger than in the Bauer Alaska parka and going "down"... got an Orvis cardie jacket the pockets go "up" and everything falls out 8p
And inner pockets on both...
Well, I'd say their XXXL B-15A is "just right" for the size. Long enough sleeves, long enough body and doesn't "flutter". Yes I know I should change the handle to "FatHairyFinn" :D They have the measurements on the site, I'd "fit" in the XXL but I wanted some "sweater & movement" space. I had...
I got a "Fight Club" in ox/red... Original weird stiff leather 70's with square(!) buttons. Just love it, though people miss the joke when I wear a hawaii shirt with motocross dirtbikes with it :D
Oh man, thats just fine when you go dancing with the Black Shadows in the Yoyogi Park in Harajuku.

Note rude dude's leopard... The bowler however - totally inappropriate:eeek:
Umm, stumbled upon this. I'd call it "my coat" but mines not especially a rain coat - it might hold off a drizzle but here on the Channel its "buckets" when it comes down. So its a "balmacaan"...I think Americans would call it a "car coat" though? At least the length is somewhere above the knee...
Ah, thats interesting. I ran across a genormous Cooper A-2 that was something like a 58.. Schott used to do that weird hybrid with sherpa lining and side pockets... The Coopers are really "thin" as most Schott stuff weighs a metric ton..
Some two- row coats have buttonholes for both sides. I think its a small feature that accommodates the left/right hand preference. If I think I am right-handed and want to get something from an inside pocket, I'd open the right side (my right) and reach in. Obviously if I was left-handed I'd...
I suppose Burberry, but I just can't figure out their sizing. It seems like euro numbers but even then its "all wrong" [huh].
I think "Mad Men" caused a bit of a renaissance on "London Fog", but as far as raincoats go the polyester one I got is my most used coat even I get quipped its a...
I have a Cooper... Ummm... This gets weird. I thought the modern milspec goatskin I had was a Cooper, but theres an Avirex tab in the pocket :eusa_doh: I've been trying to clear out my jacket collection and finally get a "proper" one, my problem is I need a 52 or so and a long. An Aero dark...
Yeah, Orvis sizing is a bit weird. Problem is I'm a "50L"... their XXL has a 54-56 chest in some jackets, a 50-52 in some... and the sleeves are 3/4
As to their pricing, I go to Orvis.com the price is $479 and Orvis.co.uk and its something like £459 [huh] I'm looking at their stuff...
Noticed as I was selling an A2 that I had downloaded my Duxford pics onto there.
.. oh well, while I am at it
Duxford, near Cambridge, UK - Worth a visit ;)
Here we have as genuine as it gets a G-1 USN flight jacket in 3XLT made by “Taylor's Leatherwear” with a Thinsulate lining for the big flyboys.
As far as G-1's on the market go this is mil-spec except maybe for the cut which is generous, but with one-piece back top panel in the “action back”...
Here we have as cool as it gets an Korean War USAAF A2-flight jacket XXL with a bloodchit painted back.
Of course its a genuine fake done with the best possible taste and some crazy collector will pay thousands for it off your back, but I still have some scruples. This has been hanging in my...
tent arrived stop camper happy stop
perfect fit for me - and fits a submarine jumper under for the inclement weather, but for now its off to Glastonbury... though the Baracuta G9 I scored might be more appropriate
Methinks I scored this one off eebers ;) Usually my experience with Alphas has been I need to find a 4xl and then the chest is puffed up and I need to wear dungarees as the back is too short... They made a "replica" series of the MA-1 a few years back with the DuPont and wool lining, would...
If you posted some detail pictures, might be easier to say...
Epaulettes... period feature, matter of taste... I have a practical reason, I have my camera bag so A2 style is fine, but the buttoned ones cause havoc... same reason I don't like padded shoulders (as if I'd need any more padding)...
