Yes, I cut two full circles (like a circle skirt) out of a yard then cut out circular holes in the middle of them large enough to go over my hips (they look like donuts). Im glad you found it useful, it is increadibly easy, once you get going, but so boring to cut and sew, you just feel like you are sewing the same straight line forever, and yes you do feel like you may lose it but its so satisfying when you finish it and get it under a dress. I used this guide for mine http://www.pettipond.com/lon.htm however you may find it difficult getting net in 72" width. White cream peach and black are the only colours I have found so far in 72" So if you are looking for something more colourfull you may have to adjust the pattern for 54" width...- fluffy-tiger

Anyone know much about sewing machines?
The person who writes this blog may be able to give you some info, there is an entry on post war japanese machines which she explains were made by the bucketload and are hard to trace info on, however she says most were based on some singer models so maybe if you can get hold of a simelar old...- fluffy-tiger

I know, because it is so lush and soft, luckily I have scraps so I can test how it washes before I try to clean it, I think it might survive a cold wash hopefully, because the dress is so lovely to wear, and I can't afford a dry cleaners.. :eusa_doh:- fluffy-tiger

I should have pointed out that I also made the dress form myself out of duct tape. I found the instructions on line, my partner spent ages wrapping me up like a mummy it was funny, but a total godsend for fitting, I just could't afford an expensive shop one.
