Can someone here please buy this dress! Oh how I wish that I 1. could afford this baby and 2. Had the figure to suit it: Clicky here. It's a listing on eBay and I'm looking for something to wear for my Vintage Glamour themed Hen's day in a couple of weeks. It deserves a good home!

    Girdles, Corsets, and Underpinnings

I'm happy to say that I totally love my cincher. I can now wear it for as long as I want (I guess I just got used to it!) without trouble. If you'd like to take a look at what I look like in my WKD cincher, I've popped a couple of shots on my blog here. Thanks for all the advice when I...

    The ones that got away

Oh, I am sooooo disapointed I could cry! I enquired about postage from the States to Australia and in the mean time (over night) someone else bought it :eusa_doh: It was going to be for my Hen's day, which has the theme of "Vintage Glamour". The first dress I bought for it (an...

    Matchy-matchy or not so much-y?

I tend to buy my underwear in sets. Three piece if I can (bra, panties and g-string). Even my flesh toned bras usually have matching bottoms. Not that Mr VV tends to notice any more (ah, familiarity.....) but when we first moved in together he was impressed with all my matchy matchy...

The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947 - 1957

Girls. It was a wonderful exhibition. Worth every minute of the four hour drive to get there and back from Melbourne. Alas, no photos, but I am doing a follow up post on my blog with some of my favourite dresses, scanned from the hefty catalogue. The post is due to be published tomorrow...

Sorry for the delay, I promised to tell you how this cincher worked out. I really like it. It is of very high quality and it certainly defines my waistline more (up to four inches). I'm kind of sorry I didn't buy it in a size smaller as I have lost a bit of weight since Christmas!! Oh well...

    Ideal bodies for the eras

I went for the What Katie Did I ended up buying an underbust corset/cincher from What Katie Did in the UK, but it won't arrive her in Australia until the new year: I will let you know how I find it.

Why, wear it of course darling! lol Maybe around the house for a couple of hours first if it is too rumpled to be seen out of doors. Or maybe place it over an inflated balloon and rest it in your bathroom while you have a steamy hot shower?

That black dress is lovely and I can imagine that the other 'plain' one will look fantastic on - especially since it is a perfect fit. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the clear object in the bottom right photo?

I have purchased a waist cincher from WKD to wear under selected dresses: As a curvy gal (AU 14) I know that it will help me define my waist a little better. It should hopefully arrive from the UK early in the new year.

    Vintage-Inspired clothing lines

*sigh* Zac Posen Oh how I love Zac Posen's new line. I have no problem with vintage 'style', as opposed to to true vintage pieces. Fragility, size and cost often prevents me from owning and wearing originals.

    Cardigans, cardigans, cardigans!

We are a little spoilt for choice here in Melbourne. This is one of my own recent finds - and in a larger size to boot :) I'm with you on that one, but I must admit that I don't always have true vintage items as lots of my wardrobe is reproduction.

    Ideal bodies for the eras

Unfortunately Madame Circa doesn't have any in at the moment, due to current Aussie dollar value. I have found a cincher on ebay that I've bid for, so will have to wait and see how I go!
