Bowlly's might be the best rendition of Blue Moon ever. Certainly my favorite.

Didjaknow the label says "Al Bowlly, Tenor (sic), with orchestra directed by Ray Noble"? Noble as yet had no record deal and no band - he was in his probationary period with the NY local and couldn't take steady work! (No union for singers, of course.)

I'm still trying to get the ipod that I won from a grocery store last year to play. If the amber light is blinking while it's plugged into the USB port what's that mean? I'm no techno-dummy, but this has got me frustrated. I want to get my Down To The Bone collection downloaded.

PT, ya got nothing to be embarrassed about. I already made myself more of a potential lightning rod, anyway--movie soundtracks are one thing, but who in heck listens to soundtracks from computer games?

True, but I do have a pretty embarrassing movie soundtrack in my Itunes. Remember Newsies? That Disney musical about paperboys in turn of the century NYC? I can't get enough of it! :)

Kate Bush - Running up that Hill

PT, have you heard Placebo's cover of 'Running Up That Hill'? It was ballsy for them to try and cover such a perfect song, but their effort is amazing. Highly recommended!

Cheers!

Well Fletch, looks like I have a lot of new music seeking to do. I'm currently in an ebm/lo-fi/down tempo/post classical/sound scape phase, but I suspect that to be breaking somewhere around mid-Summer. This list will help greatly.

The poetry I love. His own recitation? Not so keen on. Perhaps it's silly of me, but I had never listened to him before and I was expecting -so- much more. [huh] I find his voice disturbing, it sounds like how I would imagine a serial killer's to sound.I was all set for a James Earl Jones deal or something of that nature. Unrealistic, maybe, but eh.[huh]

Yes,i agree it is unnerving. But considering his age and such when these were recorded,i give him a little break.Maybe he would have been better when younger. No doubt he has that New England accent and feeling.

I've got a mix of Mora and Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman and Airmen of Note on the iPod in the car. In the house, I've had Frank Sinatra going since the theatre's doing a Sinatra tribute show through next weekend.

These are my top 25 most played directly off of my iTunes. I question the accuracy because I tend to switch the song before the song is through which doesn't add up on the play count. About that Return to Pooh Corner, I have a one year old.. lol We sure do love the Beatles round here if you couldn't tell :D The only thing that calms babygirl sometimes is a little jazz (on the good ol' record player), the Beatles, Elton John and especially Clapton. :D so proud of my music loving baby lol
