Akubra Squatter with a tight pinch?

Anyone have the squatter (or similar pork pie crown) with a tight pinch? I am vacillating between the Carbon Gray Stylemaster and the Moonstone Squatter and I am leaning towards the Squatter, but it is an un-pinched hat and I am partial to a tight pinch.

Can a hat like the Squatter take a good tight pinch and still look good?

The Squatter comes open crown, so you can pretty much put whatever you want in it. I don't particularly like a tight pinch, but here is how it looks on the Squatter.

I've tried that, but it seems to turn out kind of lumpy along the groove, not that smooth oval dip that the factories produce.

With some water you can put a tight pinch in anything. I did it with my Campdraft (which I've sold). And hand creases are supposed to look, well, hand made. Look at Bogie's crease in his hats from the top and you can see what I mean. You can also porkpie anything, but it takes patience to put in a nice dome.

If you do it a small section at a time using steam, you can slowly work out the "bumps" that hand bashing can cause.
