I've been thinking about adding some detachable-collared shirts to my wardrobe, and I like the idea of making them myself to get the exact fit and style I want (plus I just like sewing).
I've not had the opportunity to closely examine the construction of old soft collars, so I have a construction question. Are the two parts of a fold-down collar simply two layers of fabric which have been starched, or does one or both have some kind of interfacing inside, such as light canvas?
Cheers,
Nick
