Does a polyester fill lining breathe at all?

I'm considering a 50's horsehide bomber jacket and the jacket maker only has a quilted nylon-over-polyester lining (originals had a rayon or nylon-over-reprocessed wool lining). Anybody have experience with quilted polyester linings? I'm specifically wondering if it will breathe. If not, I'll just go for a wool lining. I'd rather have the easy on/off of nylon, but I don't want to sweat like a pig in this jacket. Also, if anybody knows where I can pick up a small amount of rayon or nylon/reprocessed wool lining, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
