How about a Stetson Royal Deluxe St. Regis with a pair of matching gloves. Will share more when I receive it.

That is just a wonderful buy, buler. Man, you have had three outstanding items of late. Please keep this one away from sharp objects and their wielders. ;) :)

Wil Tam and Carter, I'm waiting by the mailbox with my scissors right now.....;)

Seriously, there is no way I could do that to a vintage hat. While I'm not sure that kind of brim is going to be for me, I would trade or sell before "modifying".

Did anyone here win this beautiful '30s Cavanagh Derby?

Size 7 1/2 in an belled English-style, and looks like it was never worn. To top it off, it has a Cavanagh Edge underneath that ribbon.

I wanted this one so desperately, but I had to bow out at $225, couldn't afford more than that.

Fantastic liners on the middle two! I have little use for a homburg just this second, but would have gone over for either one of those, had they been my size. Neat-O!

I love MacLachlan hats and was watching those auctions closely, but they're one size too small for me and I'm currently saving for an Art Fawcett custom. I own a 7 5/8 LO MacLachlan with a stingy-ish 2" brim, a wind trolley, and a back bow. It has the tartan lining along with an original MacLachlan tartan hatbox. It's an awesome hat. I think it might be beaver felt, but it's not marked accordingly.

Were they worth buying to rehab as fedoras style hats?

Absolutely not! They were worth buying to keep as Homburgs.

I don't know where the seller found such a great collection of MacLachlan Homburgs and various Cavanagh hats that have never been worn, but since he/she is in Norwalk, they might have come from the private collection of someone who used to work in the hat industry. And ooohhhh, what a collection it was. If I had only had a couple hundred more dollars...:(

The seller was not good at communication and could not understand what I wanted when I said flip the brim and measure it. What size was the brim actually do you think? Were they worth buying to rehab as fedoras style hats?

Step away from the scissors.......:eusa_doh:

Did anyone here win any of those...I lost the brown one with the red plaid liner..

those were great finds!

The black Homburg and the Cavanagh Darby will travel to Europe.

Anybody else here, who went for the Derby?
