Max obviously has impeccable taste.
This should be here when I come home from work tomorrow and it does say DERBY on the sweatband.
Also has some sort of DuPont connection, maybe the ribbon is sewn on with Stren fishing.
I'll call it Old Lunker Lander and use it on fishing trips.

Took a lot of patience with the seller but this one is finally on its way.

Not so good pictures and a title that just said vintage Stetson 6 7/8 probably let this one fall though.

I suppose the patience will be worth it as the seller said... if nothing else you have a great story of getting a Stetson for less than two dollars. B121A0EA-77E1-415E-AB5A-3C91AE52188F.jpeg 4C08C645-7455-44C0-8980-587C411CCA55.jpeg 60760274-9506-4B02-A885-068857286408.jpeg

I'm glad you got it. I placed the initial bid but then realized I was not going to wear it, instead bought an OR :)

The Dupont connection is a water resistant concoction they sprayed on the felt.

Small world, we were both looking at the same thing.
Yeah, I'll wear it a lot.
It must be the Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, A Clockwork Orange thing that got me liking them so much.

A Stetson under $2.00? That's the bargain of the year!

Sweatband and ribbon area looks like it has seen some serious sweat... but other than that felt looks just fine.

I figure with that UPC code a fairly modern offering.

Can’t wait for this fab lid to get here and begin restoration treatments.
I hope that’s a copper ribbon and not just brown, but I’ll be happy either way, fo sho!
Seller says the brim is 2 1/2 wide. Looks 2 3/4 to me. Pics can be deceiving, but still...
again, happy either way!
Be back with upgraded Mallory and pics Tuesday, or so.

Since you’re still up...
You’re the one who won that brown Dobbs homburg a while ago, I’d bet. And if it wasn’t you, I hope it was someone else here at the Lounge. ‘Twas a nice hat, for sure.
I stayed up to bid and lost to a better bidder. Oh well. It’s all fun!

I was up and watching. I would have bid if it had stayed lower, but once it starter shooting up I tapped out. Frankly, I tapped out before I tapped in.
