Nice snag, Bill. You're partial to those brown lids, aren't you? I don't think I've ever seen a ribbon treatment like that on any vintage Stetson. Please post some photos once you receive it!

It's interesting that the lining's logo and lettering mimic those of the British hatter, "John Lock & Co."

I was tempted to bid on it since it has a verified date associated with it, but got sidetracked and forgot to set a snipe. I probably wouldn't have hit the reserve anyway, as I figured it would go pretty high. I'm really surprised it didn't go higher.

I do wonder about the Dobbs "English Way."
