That’s usually the result from an error in zip replacement. The jacket jmax posted looks that way. That huge Talon isn’t original to the jacket. If you click the Etsy link you can see it.

Yeah, sort of looks like someone spent several hours artfully removing finish with sandpaper. All the wear is pretty even in appearance - no signs of deeper scratches and damage - and it's a little too clean looking. I think it still looks pretty good and 99% of people would look at that and think "nice patina".

I looked at the tag, it’s San Diego leather not Just Leather, who is in NorCal. They did seem to produce similar level jackets, hence my confusion. Pretty sure both are 70s makers. Bates competitors? Good stuff. I tend to like the Just leather stuff better imo, the older stuff. Hide can be thicker looking and a bit glossier finishes.

Yeah, I think that was done as an alteration. The Blue knit looks totally odd. I’d try and replace that with a leather waist band. Maybe all the way around so it makes sense.

An unusual Sears Oakbrook at least a style I’ve not seen before. I’m not a fan of rib knit cuffs/waistband but this has got some cool sleeve zippers with cinch closure. I suspect it to be a Canadian Sears.

After a second look I think you’re right. I didn’t pay close attention because of the knit waistband but sleeve zippers are not too impressively done.
