I'm 6'0 but I do have longer torso. I asked for 26.75, so maybe rounding error for them. I don't mind if it comes slightly below. I'm more worried about the collar now. I sent him a note to change, hopefully they can do before shipping. Has anyone else corrected anything after they saw the QC photos?

I think it will be great at 4”. Many vintage collars are 3.5” and it will allow for a nice fold. It will probably lay nice too depending on the shape.

this is the photo that scares me. It's probably a major job to change it out now given they have to redo the zipper too since it goes all the way up. I'll see what he says. I mean I probably would never wear it all the way up, more like what you posted above, but it's actually closer to 4.5 than 4.

I think zippers can be shortened from the top. They just need to reposition the stopper :

^^^that's great to know. TY for info. In case he gives me some options. Might as well get this as close to right as possible.

In looking back at length, I think what messed me up some was I recently bought an Aero from Thurston Bros. I used the specs that they said the jacket was as reference and made some adjustments. The thing is, they pull the jacket really tight to get the measurement. There's been a few people who have mentioned the measurements don't match up on their jackets. So in hindsight, I'd probably go 26.25 instead of 26.75. The Aero I got is supposed to be 26, but I keep getting 25.5ish. So I added 3/4 inch on what I thought was the measurement (26) because I feel like the Aero one is touch short for me, but not bad. Whatever not the end of the world. Starting to sound like first world problems ;)

Edit; Nevermind. Think you were asking which of the member styles are now on 5 Star. From what I gather, the sunburst, cafe racer, and a couple of the civilian half belt.

their niche is military, A1, A2, Bombers, etc. But a few members have been giving them sample photos and mock ups and they've been nailing them for the most part. Cafe Racer, Half Belt styles, Sunburst, etc. Read the thread from the beginning. Lots of examples posted. The trickiest part seems to be the sizing because their size charts are really strange. I was coming up Small to Xsmall on some styles even though I mostly wear large. But they will customize to your specs. Just need to get past the language barrier via photos and drawings seems to be the safe bet.

From Aero’s website: “This leaves us no options other than to be unable to guarantee measurements of a finished jacket to be any more precise than to be within ½" of requirements. This minimal discrepancy means nothing on a leather jacket, a few weeks wear and any leather jacket starts to form itself to the wearer's body and even an inch one way or the other will be totally hidden in the overall ambiance of a broken in jacket.”
Tweeking jacket measurements by 1/4” or 1/2” seems a bit extreme.
The Five Star jackets posted look great, they appear to fit extremely well, are nicely made at a very wallet-friendly price point and get delivered astonishingly quickly.
At the end of the day, it’s “just” a leather jacket to be worn and enjoyed!

Weather cooler in the UK so I got to rock the G-1 type I custom ordered. Numbers weren’t exactly as specified on all measurements given, but most were and the more I wear it the better it seems to fit...

I wouldn’t sweat the collar. I think it’ll look better a bit more broad. Zipping it fully might be awkward unless you’ve got a longer neck. I think un-zipped though it will sit nice.

If you are afraid the edges of the clasp would chew through the thin sheep leather overtime, then you need slightly wider patch than the size of the clasp of strong hide on top, not inside

I honestly think this company isn't even worth the low prices they ask for.....
I've both had a A2 jacket and a rather sad imitation of a G2 jacket from them.....the goatskin they used had such a thick layer of some form of plastic coating (that will never develop a platina, only crack into sections) that I originally sent it back to Mr Ali because it looked like vinyl to me
The cutting and fit looks like they just "scaled up" the chest size without taking into account chest, sleeve and torso lengths
The workmanship on the stitching was subpar even compaired to "mall jackets"
I kept the A2 as a chore jacket and gave the G2 to a Op Shop......

That is an unfortunate experience for sure. Sorry to hear that.
Out of curiosity, when did you get your jacket from Five-star?

It's a learning experience like in any hobby....... mostly why I tend to like to handle a jacket before buying it
I got the G1 a little over a year ago (it was a custom job that a mate had made up..... looks like a "Frankenstein mod" where it's got a button off fur collar, G1 pockets but A2 back)
The A2 I got direct from 5* in April.....

Why did you decide to order one yourself in April while your friends G1 wasn't to your liking?

I think 5* has made some progress over the past few months. Better leather, better cut. 5* picks up every feedback like a sponge and tries to improve.
I would rather not order off the rack at 5* because the sizes would definitely not fit me.
