ANY 1940s film written/directed by Preston Sturges: Sullivan's Travels, The Palm Beach Story, The Great McGinty, The Lady Eve, The Miracle of Mogran's Creek, etc. They're ALL hilarious and reflect the period wonderfully.

I've got plenty of extra time!
Casablanca sounds wonderful....thanks so much for the suggestions!
