I can’t quite figure this Stetson 4X Beaver Quality OR clone out.

This hat may be a refurb so the original style factory size/blocking sticker is not there to help date it.

What’s throwing me is the “Twenty” stamp. I thought this logo style 4XBQ hats were from the early 1950s, but the price of Open Roads at that point (1950) were $30 for a 4X and $15 for a 3X.

Even in the late 1930s the 4X was more than $20.

Maybe the factory considered this a “second” and over-stamped the 4XBQ logo, reduced the price with the “Twenty” stamp and sent it to an outlet.

Thoughts?

That is a mystery and seemingly an odd place for a "Twenty" stamp. Were there outlets for these hats back then?
