Spot on fit for a Comet. It's a spectacularly nice jacket.
Thanks! It's an instant favorite. Got it at a really good price. Love the tartan lining, too.
I said this purchase made me feel like I've entered the "big leagues" because this Comet gives me a greater understanding of exceptional leathers and construction.
I have no frame of reference for knowing if this example is of Vanson's older or newer "comp weight" leather, however.
I have a Vanson Comet in 44" bought new (in a clearance sale here in Queensland Australia !)
It is my "coolest" leather jacket ( in terms of temperature !) and yes they are cut shorter then the norm.
So short it is strictly for the Harley on days over 28C. I REALY like it....
This Real McCoys take on the Lee Storm Rider should be in my hands tomorrow. I have very high hopes for this one, and I don’t think I will be disappointed. One thing I am particularly happy with is that RMC kept the jacket boxy and on the shorter side unlike some of the other repros.
I couldn’t possibly reveal my sources
I'll just be PayPaling you money until you decide to finally send it to me, then.
Well, to be honest there’s a fair chance it may be slightly too large. If it is, then it’ll be moved on I guess. It should arrive (hopefully) by the end of the week. Let’s see where the cards fall...
I sent the serial number to Vanson. They tell me my Comet was made in Feb. 2003. So it’s the older heavier comp weight. Winner!
Building anticipation for sure...I had a lovely Numac of Sydney Kangaroo leather trucker jacket in 42" and by a coupla years ago it was "too squeezy" for me ! It now resides with my brother in Tasmania , he is the mountain biker skinny/fit type and it fits him well
Still waiting for my type2 denim mto i ordered last month, i have no plan for other jacket this year or foreseeable future, i want olive green and coffee cinchback workpants with double knee in duck canvas from the same guy who make my type2 local mto vendor in my city.
Wow! That is the one.
Don't forget me, I wear a 44 too I keep trying to look the other way when I see a cool leather trucker, but I fail. My failures will become apparent soon.
Your Golden Sun Feeds ones are equally good! I really love both. And brand new, at that!!
I sent John some dough for that Acme A-2 on his sale page. Fingers crossed. Goodwear virginity lost on Easter!
sounds good, it is Goodwear.
Congrats, you did well!
I'd really like a Moonshiner in tumbled cordovan. I managed to sell a cordovan LHB and a cafe racer jacket. Still trying to shift the SB and (possibly) a Stockman. That'd leave me with a Highwayman, a Teamster and a 50's HB. They'd be my 'exit jackets'. I'd squeeze a Moonshiner in to celebrate my freedom. .
That’s a beautiful oxymoron, my friend.
I have three jackets I’m very interested in and I have asked the sellers questions and not a single one has bothered to answer. That instantly puts me off. If you can’t be bothered to reply to a simple inquiry about your wares...go pound sand.
