Old Capper and Capper with Rust

I have a very nice Capper and Capper that I had rebuilt by Optimo. They knew who Capper and Capper was because they are part of Chicago history. They did a very nice job and I love the hat but sometimes I feel the original ribbon is too flashy. As you can see from the photos it is a rust color. Very unusual to find on today's hats. It has a cavanagh edge, 2.75 brim, and the felt is midweight, thick but very soft. The weight and body of the hat is just enough that a strong wind does not snap the front brim. This hat seems to breathe like no other felt I have. On hot days it stays pretty comfortable relative to other felts.

Art, wear your hat in good health, that ribbon looks just fine the way it is. I wouldn't change a thing. BTW, what is the story behind calling the hat a Capper?

Capper and Capper is a trade name so is Crean

the C&C is the trade name for this hat. I bought it on Ebay in group of three hats the included Capper and Capper, Crean and an old Borsalino. they were in modest shape and I got a good deal...So off they went to Optimo in Chicago and they knew the Capper and Capper brand as a local Chicago institution that is long gone. So Capper and Capper is house brand name on this beauty. Thanks for the supportive comments. I was gonna put her up for sale but I'm afraid she wouldn't fetch a great price due to the size and the unknown brand. I might as well keep her.
