I made a skirt to match the 'Chanel' jacket I made.. I added a black lace to the waist. It has a pocket in the front with the detail of a bit of gathering in the left side of the front.

So I made this yesterday. It's the first dress I've ever made. I didn't use a pattern or anything, I just made it out of my brain or whatever

I was a little worried because when I bought the fabric for that dress, my brother said "that would have gone well with our old orange shag carpet" lol

Here's a dress I finally finished. It's a teens dress from a repro from Past Patterns and that's me and Matt out at Balboa Park last weekend for a Ragtime ball:

So I made this yesterday. It's the first dress I've ever made. I didn't use a pattern or anything, I just made it out of my brain or whatever. I don't know what the technical term for that is.

Anyway, here's some awkward looking pictures of me in the dress.

I like the cut of that dress. It's really nice.

A full skirt in pale green satin (underlayer) and pale green chiffon (toplayer) with a broad white satin band in the waist.. I am gong to make a big headscarf to match..

Here are my latest: thrift store fabric and $1 fabric.

These linen pants are from a table cloth I got at the thrift store for $3

They are my first fully lined garment. And yes, I made some oopsies, but they are wearable.

This is another go at the Simplicity pattern. STILL the sleeves are too big even after I cut them down two inches!!!

These buttons are glass! I got them in a small lot for $4. This is my Sat. picnic dress by the way

You are a sewing dynamo! Didn't you JUST pick up that linen table cloth? It seems like overnight they magically turned into pants! And cute ones, too!

I wish you could bottle and sell that motivation, I'd buy a case!

Lady Day - I am so jealous of your trouser-sewing skills. Finding trousers to fit properly is the hardest thing, so being able to tailor your own is one helluva gift!

LD, I love the linen trousers! Linen trousers are on my list of things to make, but I hate fitting trousers.

I left off the belt loops and pockets to keep the line as simple as possible. I pretty happy with it, since it's my first shot at the pattern.

Cargo pockets on a high-waisted pencil skirt? Really?

I know, reminds me of the issue of Threads that made me cancel my subscription. An article featured horrible, huge, ugly pockets that sat right on the hip. Anyway, welcome back, Polka Dot!
