Personally I wouldn't buy it because for about the same price I could get a custom VS milan from Art Fawcett or for less a nice panama from Panama Bob (or a custom one from Tom-n-Perris - still for less $$)

Is it a
hand woven, quality panama
or a
hand woven quality panama?

In other words, are we missing a comma, or is this the question of whether "beaver quality" contains any beaver fur?

and it doesn't say waterproof, it says repellent. Almost everything is water repellent to some degree.

Well, it says it's toquilla, so unless the definition of toquilla has stretched as far as, say, "beaver quality" has, you can be at least fairly confident it's a "real" Panama straw hat. And for that kind of dough it really ought to be, I'd think.

Provided it is indeed a good (or better) quality, hand woven in Ecuador, well-finished hat, the price is within reason.
