Talk me into or out of this silly jacket? (Schott sportswear leather)

SCHOTT bros made a leather safari jacket, and I kind of think it's awesome...

Am I crazy?
The tag says it's "schott bros sportswear" collection. What should I expect from the leather and the craftsmanship? It's tag matches the look, VERY 70s LOL.

But I like it! I think it has potential.

Hard pass, but this is coming from a guy who has a white leather jacket with hair-on-hide and fringe, so take it with a grain of salt.

If you like it and the price is right there's nothing wrong with something fun and quirky.

I think this one should be seen almost like a safari jacket for cooler climes, and the zip-out pile lining gives it more versatility.

I was close to trying out a vintage piece similar to this, see below. But yes, the Schott is definitely more 70's looking.

This is the WWII US Army mackninaw pattern. Very different imo.

So THAT'S where they got those slash pockets from!

I don't think so. The ones on the Schott are more like just normal chest pockets, only with the direction reversed.

I meant in comparison to the flap bellows pockets normally seen on a Bush Jacket.

Does that make this more of a Norfolk Jacket?

I say do it if it suits you. Seen enough of the same 15 jackets over the past 12 years here. I like something different! We are in grave danger of becoming the new finance bro, excel spreadsheet, nylon vest wearing crowd packaged in a different material. Fight it!
