These ads are great for reference or to reflect on advertising of the past. Most fashion illustrations after the early 50's, I could not care less about. I love the summer catalogs.

Is this supposed to be modeled after Dana Andrews? I know of the Bing Crosby Stetson ad.

    [IMG][IMG]

EDIT: Welp, couldn't make out the print until now. It is Andrews. What other celebs got featured in these old Stetson ads?

I apologize. I just came across the Andrews ad here and your warning of keeping it hard-copy only. Keep showing us these originals!

  11. A bit late for this thread really......but it does give some interesting historical perspective.....from a 1964 Miller-Stockman. That Frontiersman has one heck of an interesting crease.....
And what the hell did they do to the Longhorn?!?!?!?
The world of hats is ever changing......

  12. 1949 Miller-Stockman.....note the number of black hats (and I do not mean Union volunteers from Wisconsin). Apparently you needed a brown and/or a black hat in 49......

Cool Mark! The Whippet has a Bob like upturn to a rather narrow brim. Interesting. Can't wait.

  17. NEW Information on the dating....Just saw a couple of the postcards from this very set....they were used so included a postmark...1914. So they date 1914 or earlier.......
